Wilderness
Wilderness 1st Responder
Cost: $125 or $250
Duration: 1 Day or 2 Days upon request Hours: 8 or 16 as requested
Prerequisite: Must have successfully completed the GSAR1 within the past 3 years
This track of training takes the individual participant’s medical knowledge and training out into the world of remote access. Medical triage and potential scenarios are based on the individual’s ability and skills. All scenarios are based on the RTI definition of wilderness which is where medical assistance is more than an hour away.
We use manikins, medical photographs and moulage to simulate medical situations, then guide you to the approximate location. From there you will locate the victim(s), determine how you will access the victim(s), stabilize the victim(s), and finally choose to transport or shelter in place until assistance arrives.
We will customize the training to your group or team to the point of allowing medical gear or not depending on what your team’s goals are.
